Our volunteers selflessly give their
time, talents and courage to respond
to emergencies of their neighbors and
neighboring communities and assist
other local fire departments, increasing
the departments’ abilities to respond to
fires in a more timely manner.

The 1st class of trainees has turned
out (completed training) for the
Volunteer Fire Department of Big
Spring, Ky.  The training and
equipment is being provided by our
sponsoring Fire Dept., the Rineyville
Volunteer Fire Dept.

This being a new endeavor we would
appreciate all who read this to join and
to tell others of the new fire
department and let them know that we
need many more volunteers to become
firefighters. So please help us get the
word out!

Many folks don't realize that there are
many things that you can do in a
volunteer fire department besides
fighting fires so if you would like to
serve your community and can give
some time to help out, please do!  We
need you!

The Big Spring Township Fund, Inc. is
in the process of buying the property
adjacent to the old store across from
the Methodist Church in Big Spring to
build a Firehouse and Community
Center.  We welcome this news as
proof of the long overdue revitalization
of this historic pioneer town.  Our latest
progress is the culmination of much
time and effort by our President, Ryan
Tozier, other officers of the Big Spring
Community Fund,
local businesses,
business owners and all those who
selflessly volunteer their time to work
at Down Home Days, Haunted House,
Halloween Party and Trick or Treat
and in our other local events, and last
but not least all of you who have
donated money.

So like the phoenix rising from the
flames, Historic Big Spring, Kentucky
has once again begun growing with the
influx of many new  families and a few
new businesses and remains.............

"The Friendliest Little Town!"
These are example seals.  Our own design in currently under way.
